Keekaroo Peanut Changer / Wicker Basket / Chevron Storage Bin / Wipe Warmer
If you read my Nursery post, you know that decorating Wyatt’s room was a true labor of love. While the decorative piece was fun, the organizational system is definitely what continues to put a smile on my face every day! Here are a few of my favorites that I recommend to any mom looking to bring a little order to the chaos.
Dresser – This extra-wide dresser was repurposed from our old bedroom, and I definitely feel lucky to have the extra storage space. Little baby clothes are bound to get lost in any size drawer, so these drawer organizers are a must! These are also available from Ikea (link here, $6.99/set), but I was OK with the $13.79 price point to have them delivered to my doorstep. There are not many things I am willing to pay double for, but avoiding a trip to Ikea is among them. I ordered 3 sets in total to outfit every dresser drawer, and I later purchased an additional 2 sets for his bedroom and bathroom closets (so many teeny things to organize!). I never thought fabric cubbies could bring so much happiness to my life : )
Closet – To maximize the closet space we had available, I purchased this adjustable rod to create an additional row of hanging space. Most of Wyatt’s shirts, onesies and pants are in drawers, but we hang up his sweaters, jackets, and any nicer pieces. I registered for these ultra-thin velvet baby hangers and just bought clothespins to hang pants/bottoms. These dividers were also helpful to organize clothes by size/age, as we have many things he has yet to grow into.
On the opposite side of the closet, I used the remaining space for hanging shelves with cubbies to hold various baby accessories (toys, hats, burp clothes, blankets, etc.). These come in all shapes and sizes, but I thought these grey zig zag versions were adorable and liked that they were gender neutral. I also got the matching over-the-door shoe hanger to organize his growing collection of baby kicks.
The tall wire shelf is helpful to store overflow diapers, wipes, playmats, stuffed animals, his Boppy and the Brest Friend I used when nursing. This one came from Target, but there are dozens of similar options online, at Home Depot and Ikea. I highly recommend doing some close measurements before hauling one of these home and assembling it, only to learn the dimensions aren’t quite right (yup, that happened!). We also hung two rows of peg racks (similar here) on the far wall for hats, diaper bags, backpacks and other baby gear.
Up top, I use these shelving bins to organize other essentials (sheets, mattress covers, baby carriers, etc.). The bins came from from Target and come in dozens of colors and patterns – they regularly go on sale, so look out for that! I labeled each bin with these little elephant gift tags from Etsy (whoa, clearly I had way too much time on my hands during mat leave…!). A little stepping stool is helpful for access for mini people like myself – this one came from RH Baby & Child (old, similar here).
Don’t mind the coffee table hidden in the corner under that Aden & Anais swaddle… it didn’t work in our new space, but I simply couldn’t get myself to part with it given it matches all of our other living room pieces and is SO rad for storage (fighting hereditary hoarding instinct)!
Stroller storage – Last but not least, I had to share my stroller storage strategy as I think this could come in handy for other apartment dwellers like ourselves. I was rather proud of myself for devising this system to store our UppaBaby Vista stroller and accessories in our front-hall closet (Tom has continued to mock me for the sheer joy this brought on). We are lucky to have considerably more storage in this apartment than in our last, but this baby stuff takes up a heck of a lot of space, particularly if you don’t have a garage. These BabyBubz stroller hooks can be found here – they work perfectly for hanging the car seat and rumble seat sideways in the closet to maximize space. Another option to hang the stroller base is this over-the-door hanger by Strollaway. We just stand the base upright underneath, but this could be a helpful solution depending on the closet space you have available.
On a final, final note – I highly recommend getting some of these vacuum-seal storage bags. Wyatt flew through clothing sizes in the blink of an eye. My mom came to visit around 7 months, and she was so helpful neatly organizing everything he had outgrown and sealing it into these bags for safekeeping. Most are hiding under his crib now (not pictured!) – it’s so helpful to have the things not in use out of they way to make room for the rest.
Alright, I’m spent! Happy organizing Moms and Dads! I hope you found some helpful tips here. Any questions you’re struggling with? Let me know how I can help – comments section below!

Hi! Where is the rug in the nursery from?

Hi Jen! Unfortunately it was from PB Kids (purchased at the Alameda CA warehouse) and is no longer available. I’ll let you know if I find something similar!
